CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 28, 2014 — Theatre students at Southeast Missouri State University will present a series of one-act plays as the culmination of their “Directing II” projects May 12-14 in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theatre at Southeast’s River Campus.
The three-evening series at 7:30 p.m. will consist of three different one-act plays presented each evening, each of which will run about 20-40 minutes.
The Directing II One Acts performances are the culmination of two semesters of study for Southeast Theatre and Dance directing students, which began with Directing I. As opposed to Directing I scenes, the Directing II One-Acts are usually longer and more in-depth, with the advanced students exploring various theatrical styles and alternative approaches to play directing.
The student directors select their pieces from a wide variety of material. They audition the actors, usually from their classmates, rehearse their scenes and then present their work to the public.
Works presented may contain adult content.
The Directing II One Acts performances are free and open to the public.
