CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Nov. 6, 2009 – The Southeast Missouri State University Choir and Cantus Choralis will perform “Motets, Madrigals and Mystics” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Old St. Vincent’s Church, 131 S. Main St.
The performance features a capella choral music from Tudor England including several compositions by King Henry VIII. The festal music from the 19th and 20th centuries will be performed by the choirs, faculty soloists and organist Mary Miller.
Anton Bruckner’s “Ecce Sacerdos Magnus,” Benjamin Britten’s “Rejoice in the Lamb” and Arvo Pärt’s “Beatitudes” are just some of the songs in the performance.
Ticket prices are $8 for general admission, $7 for faculty and staff and $3 for students with a Southeast I.D. They can be purchased at the River Campus Box Office.
