Unterreiner Named Recreation Services Employee of the Month for September

The Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University has announced that Mark Unterreiner, a junior from Cape Girardeau, Mo., has been named Recreation Services Employee of the Month for September.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 10, 2007 — The Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University has announced that Mark Unterreiner, a junior from Cape Girardeau, Mo., has been named Recreation Services Employee of the Month for September.

This is the second time Unterreiner has received this award in the past 10 months.

Unterreiner is a facility supervisor for the department and has operational responsibilities for opening, closing, and maintaining patron safety in the two recreation centers on campus.

“He does a great job and is very dependable. He truly cares for his patrons and really does his best for all students and users of the facilities,” said Troy Vaughn, director of Recreation Services.  

A psychology and criminal justice double-major, Unterreiner has been an employee within the department for the past two years and has an interest in working with the federal Department of Corrections as a career aspiration. 

The Employee of the Month award is given to student employees working with the Department of Recreation Services at Southeast. The award recognizes outstanding achievement with student employees and their ability to go beyond normal duties.
