Wind Symphony, Southeast Brass Quintet to Accompany University Band in Concert April 24

The University Band, accompanied by the Wind Symphony and the Southeast Brass Quintet, will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. April 24 in Academic Auditorium at Southeast Missouri State University.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 9, 2007 — The University Band, accompanied by the Wind Symphony and the Southeast Brass Quintet, will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. April 24 in Academic Auditorium at Southeast Missouri State University.

The University Concert Band, conducted by Robert Conger, will be playing on this concert, and will be joined by the Southeast Wind Symphony. The Wind Symphony will perform “Blue Shades” by Frank Ticheli and “Northern Landscapes,” which will feature contributions by the Southeast Brass Quintet conducted by Paul Thompson. 

The program also will feature a world premier of a new composition by Robert Fruehwald, “Concerto for Two Trumpets and Wind Band.”  This performance will be enhanced by Marc Fulgam and Barry Bernhardt, trumpets, with Robert Conger conducting.
