Winners Announced of Outstanding Early Childhood of Year Award

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., May 10, 2006 — Child Care Resource and Referral and United Way/Success by Six presented the first Outstanding Early Childhood Award at the Annual Provider Appreciation Brunch May 6 at Southeast Missouri State University. 

One award was given in each of the following categories:  Early Childhood Family Provider, Early Childhood Teacher and Early Childhood Director. 

To be eligible for the award, providers must work within a licensed facility, exempt childcare facility, or inspected facility within Cape Girardeau County or Scott City. 

Winners of the awards are as follows: Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher:  Debra Childers from Jefferson Early Childhood Center; Outstanding Early Childhood Director, Amy Blackman of the University Child Enrichment Center; and Outstanding Early Childhood Family Provider, Charlotte Wildman of Care Bears Daycare in Cape Girardeau.
