Board of Regents Hold Feb. 21, 2020 Meeting

Malik Sworn in as Southeast Regent

Vivek Malik of Wildwood, Missouri, was sworn in Feb. 21 as the newest member of the Southeast Board of Regents. Administering the oath of office was the Honorable Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr., U.S. District Court Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Malik replaces the late Dennis Vinson of Cape Girardeau.

Regents Approve Minutes from Open Session Meeting of Dec. 13, 2019 (Page 3)

The minutes were approved from the Board of Regents' open session meeting of Dec. 13, 2019.

Regents Approve Resolutions of Honor for Retiring Faculty and Staff (Page 17)

The Board of Regents approved resolutions of honor for 14 faculty and 22 staff members who have retired or are retiring from the University. Their resolutions will be presented at the University's annual Employee Recognition Program May 8.

Regents Approve Academic Program Changes (Page 19)

The Regents approved several academic program changes, including transitioning the current Bachelor of Science in human environmental studies option to stand-alone programs within the departments of Child and Family Studies; Kinesiology, Nutrition and Recreation; Marketing; and Art and Design. The Regents also combined the Elementary School Administration Master of Arts and the Secondary School Administration Master of Arts into one Master of Arts titled Educational Leadership, and deleted the Bachelor of Science in Education in Physics Education, unified science program.
