OVC to Suspend Athletic Activities Until Further Notice

The Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Board of Presidents has announced that, effective immediately, OVC member institutions will suspend athletic-related activities including all competition, and formal practices until further notice due to the COVID-19 public health threat. All recruiting-related travel is also suspended until April 3, at which time the impact of that ban will be evaluated.
  • SEMO's softball team was scheduled to play at the South Florida Tournament in Tampa, Florida. That tournament has been canceled.
  • The Redhawks home baseball series vs. Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville is canceled as well as SEMO's women's tennis conference opener which was scheduled to be played at the University of Tennessee-Martin.

Facilities Management Conducting Annual Fire Alarm, Sprinkler System Inspections March 16-20

Facilities Management has contracted with Johnson Controls for fire alarm and sprinkler system inspections March 16-20. Testing technicians will be inspecting components of the fire alarm and sprinkler systems. To celebrate National Poetry Month, Kent Library is gathering recommendations on poetry for its April Reading Recs list. Recommendation are being accepted on poetry collections, individual poems, anything written in verse instead of prose, and books about poets or poetry.
