Facilities Management Conducting Annual Fire Alarm, Sprinkler System Inspections Through Jan. 17

Facilities Management has contracted with Johnson Controls for fire alarm and sprinkler system inspections through Jan. 17. Testing technicians will be inspecting components of the fire alarm and sprinkler systems. Facilities Management Conducting Annual Campus Elevator Inspections Through Jan. 17

Facilities Management will be conducting the annual state elevator inspections today, Jan. 8, through Jan. 10 and Jan. 13-17. All testing will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The elevators will be removed from service for approximately 45 minutes to two hours for the inspections. Tunnel Renovations Ongoing Near Polytechnic, Group Housing

Contractors are conducting renovations on Tunnels 51-52-53-54-55, located between the Otto and Della Seabaugh Polytechnic Building and Group Housing, this month. Bratberg Appointed Interim Chair of the Department of Leadership, Middle and Secondary Education

Dr. William Bratberg has been appointed interim chair of the Department of Leadership, Middle and Secondary Education. Bratberg will fill the chair position formerly held by the late Dr. C.P. Gause. Men’s Basketball Opens Four-Game Home Stand This Week

Southeast Missouri’s men’s basketball team opens a four-game home stand when it plays host to Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) preseason favorite Belmont University on Thursday, Jan. 9. Tip-off is set for 7:15 p.m. at the Show Me Center. Gymnastics Travels to Alaska this Weekend

The Redhawk women’s gymnastics team will compete in the Alaska Trip-Meet in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday, Jan. 10. Southeast Missouri faces the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and host University of Alaska-Anchorage in the event. The Redhawks will then face Alaska-Anchorage in a dual meet on Sunday, Jan. 12.

Track and Field Heads to Indiana

Southeast Missouri’s men’s and women’s track and field teams continue their indoor season when they head to West Lafayette, Indiana, for the Purdue Gene Edmonds Invite on Friday, Jan. 10.

Hall Tabbed Walter Camp FCS All-American

Southeast Missouri senior inside linebacker Zach Hall was named to the 2019 Walter Camp FCS All-America Team on Monday, Jan. 6. Hall picked up his fifth different FCS All-America honor. He also landed a spot on the American Football Coaches Association, Associated Press, HERO Sports and STATS All-America teams.
