Resolution of Honor Presented to Former Regent Kendra Neely-Martin

The Board of Regents presented a resolution of honor Dec. 13 to former Regent Kendra Neely-Martin of St. Louis, Missouri, who served on the Board from December 2011 to July 2019. Her term on the Board has expired.

Regents Appoint Sander to Show Me Center Board of Managers

The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents appointed Pamela Sander Dec. 13 as a University representative to the Show Me Center Board of Managers. Sander, controller and assistant treasurer at Southeast, will serve a three year-term ending Dec. 1, 2022. Regents Confer Degrees for Summer, Fall 2019

The Board conferred degrees for summer and fall 2019 candidates for graduation. Southeast held two commencement ceremonies Dec. 14 in the Show Me Center. Candidates in the College of Education, Health and Human Studies and the Harrison College of Business and Computing participated in a ceremony at 10 a.m. Candidates in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and the Holland College of Arts and Media took part in a 2 p.m. ceremony.

Regents Accept Annual Audits

The Board of Regents accepted the annual audits from Rubin Brown for the year ending June 30, 2019. These included the annual financial report, the single audit report on the schedule of expenditures of federal awards, the System Facilities Financial Report and the Report on the NCAA Independent Auditor’s Report on Agreed Upon Procedures.

Regents Approve Special Course Fee for Master’s Level Nursing Practicum

The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents approved a $16 per credit hour special course fee on a graduate level nursing practicum to take effect with the summer 2020 semester. Motion for Closed Session Approved

The Regents approved a motion to go into a closed session for appropriate considerations related to litigation; and hiring, firing, disciplining or promotion of personnel.

Announcements Following Closed Session

During Closed Session the Board of Regents took the following action:

  • By a vote of 5 to 0 the Board approved the Closed Session Minutes of the Board’s Sept. 20, 2019; Sept. 23, 2019, and Oct. 24, 2019, meetings. Regents Britt, Gargas, Klocke, Knudtson and Limbaugh all voted to approve.
  • Pursuant to RSMo 610.021.3, and by a vote of 5 to 0, the Board approved Personnel Actions pertaining to faculty and non-faculty for July through October 2019. Regents Britt, Gargas, Klocke, Knudtson, and Limbaugh all voted to approve.
  • Pursuant to RSMo 610.021.3, and by a vote of 5 to 0, the Board terminated the employment of a faculty member for cause. Regents Britt, Gargas, Klocke, Knudtson and Limbaugh all voted to approve.
  • The Board also had conversations with legal counsel pursuant to RSMo 610.021.1.
The Regents approved a motion to adjourn the meeting.
