Dennis P. Marchi Memorial Scholarship for Marketing Established at Southeast

The Dennis P. Marchi Memorial Scholarship for Marketing has been established through the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. Kathleen Marchi of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, made a $10,000 gift to establish the award in honor of her husband, the late Dennis P. Marchi. Football Partners with Cape Girardeau Police Department to Hold Car Wash Saturday

Southeast Missouri's football program is teaming up with the Cape Girardeau Police Department to hold a car wash on Saturday, Oct. 10. The car wash is scheduled for noon-5 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Police Department (2530 Maria Louise Lane). SEMO's football program is helping to raise money for the Minority Police Academy Scholarship Fund.

Football Game at Southern Illinois Moved to Oct. 30

The "War for the Wheel" football game between Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois has been moved to Friday, Oct. 30. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Saluki Stadium. Initially, the longtime rivals were scheduled to meet on Oct. 23.

2020-2021 Football Schedule is Complete

The Ohio Valley Conference announced its regular-season football schedule for the 2020-2021 season, which was postponed from the fall to the spring due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Southeast Missouri is scheduled to play eight games, including one this fall (at Southern Illinois, Oct. 30).

Athletes Participate in Yoga during Mental Health Awareness Week

Southeast Missouri's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted a Department of Athletics wide slow flow Yoga event Thursday, Oct. 8 at Houck Field. The Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) emphasizes Mental Health Awareness Week to ensure athletes are caring for their mental well-being as an important part of OVC values. SAAC chose to engage in Mental Health Awareness by bringing SEMO student-athletes together for a Yoga event so they could help stimulate their minds and bodies.

Former star wide receiver Willie Ponder is in this week's Southeast Missouri Alumni Spotlight presented by SoutheastHEALTH. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ponder played two seasons at SEMO from 2001-2002 and shattered numerous records during that time.
