For Southeast Spirit Week Oct. 25-31, the Spirt Week Planning Committee (formerly Homecoming Planning Committee) and Campus Life and Event Services are challenging University departments and offices to decorate their doors, windows and more with Southeast Spirit! 'Take-Away Friday' Continues Oct. 16 with 'How to Have Difficult Conversations and Avoid Conflict'

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) continues the “Take-Away Friday” series of faculty development presentations at noon on Oct. 16 on Zoom. “How to Have Difficult Conversations and Avoid Conflict” will be presented by Dr. Tony Faber, professor of family studies, and Dr. Erin Fluegge, associate professor of management. This session explores how to have tough conversations while trying to minimize conflict -- topics which have work and classroom applications. Politics, however, can be entrenched in literature, not just current events. Political fiction and nonfiction have long been popular genres for American readers, as both have the ability to sway opinion, educate and even entertain.
