DeArman Awarded ‘Most Innovative International Initiative’ Award by NAFSA

Dr. Brooke DeArman, assistant director of international student services at Southeast Missouri State University, has been awarded the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers (NAFSA): Association of International Educators Region IV’s “Most Innovative International Initiative Award.” DeArman was recognized for the national anthem performances videos she made during the spring 2020 semester. Southeast faculty and staff are eligible for discounted tickets for "Big Band Christmas Jukebox" presented by the Department of Music and The Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance at Academic Hall Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 and 14. Tickets may be purchased at the River Campus Box Office, Show Me Center Box Office, or Athletics Box Office. A valid faculty or staff ID must be presented when purchasing.

2020-2021 Men's Basketball Schedule is Complete

Southeast Missouri's men's basketball team will play a 27-game schedule with 12 matchups at the Show Me Center this upcoming 2020-2021 season. SEMO tips off its first season under Head Coach Brad Korn at the Negro League Baseball Museum Tip-Off Classic in Kansas City, Missouri, on Nov. 27-28.

Women's Basketball Announces 2020-2021 Schedule

Southeast Missouri announced its 2020-2021 Women's Basketball Schedule on Thursday, Nov. 5. The Redhawks have 25 regular-season games scheduled, including 14 at the Show Me Center. The Redhawks will play four of their five non-conference opponents at home. SEMO will tip off the season against Missouri Baptist (Nov. 28) in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Southeast Missouri was picked third in the 2020-2021 Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Women's Basketball Preseason Poll today, Nov. 6. Senior guard Tesia Thompson was named Preseason All-OVC for the third-straight year.

Athletics Alumni Spotlight: John Schwepker

Former Southeast Missouri track and field All-American John Schwepker is in this week's Alumni Spotlight brought to you by SoutheastHEALTH. Schwepker was on SEMO's track and field team from 1984 to1988. He was the NCAA Division II National Champion in the indoor pole vault in 1985 and outdoor decathlon in 1988. Schwepker, who is in the school's Athletics Hall of Fame, was a seven-time All-American who still holds SEMO's decathlon record with 7,881 points.
