Website Redesign Vendors Presenting on Campus Feb. 19, 20, 28

Three vendors will be making campus presentations in the coming weeks to discuss redesigning the website. An RFP was issued in December, and nine proposals were received. Those proposals were narrowed to three for campus presentations by a task force comprised of faculty and staff. Collaborative Efforts to Enhance Student Success Focus of Feb. 26 Brown Bag Lunch

A University update on collaborative efforts across campus to enhance student success will be the focus of a Brown Bag Lunch scheduled for noon Feb. 26 in Academic Hall Auditorium. Students, faculty and staff are invited. Brown bag lunches are available from Chartwells for $1. To order a lunch, email or call ext. 2536 before 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20. Sandwich options are ham, turkey, roast beef and vegetarian. Chips, whole fruit, a cookie and drink are included. You may also bring your own brown bag lunch. Please arrive by 11:45 a.m. to get your lunch and be seated in the auditorium before the program begins.

SEMO Horticulture Club Selling Mini-Roses, Plants for Valentine's Day

The SEMO Horticulture Club is selling fresh mini-roses in tissue and other blooming plants for Valentine's Day. Stop by the University Center third floor lobby on Feb. 12 and 13 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to submit your order for delivery. The club will deliver to any residence hall or department. Pick-up only orders may be purchased on Friday, Feb. 14, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., also in the University Center third floor lobby. 'Take-Away Friday' Continues Feb. 14 with 'The Current State of OER'

The Center for Scholarship in Teaching and Learning (CSTL) continues the "Take-Away Friday" series of faculty development presentations at noon Feb. 14 in the Jean Ann Whitaker Model Classroom in the EDvolution Center, Scully Room 209. "The Current State of OER" will be presented by Stephan Hallam, education information librarian, and Kris Baranovic, instructional design specialist. HERI 2020 Faculty Survey Begins Feb. 17

Southeast faculty are invited to participate in the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) 2020 Faculty Survey. HERI administers the faculty survey every three years, and Southeast has participated since 1992. Southeast faculty will be receiving email invites to participate in the survey beginning Feb. 17. Faculty Invited to Free OER Summit March 4, Course

It is “Love OER Month,” and there is a variety of great resources available to interested faculty. The first is the Statewide Open Educational Resources (OER) Summit hosted in Columbia, Missouri, on March 4. This summit is free, designed to be hands-on for faculty and will be a great opportunity for faculty interested in using OER in their courses. Summit registration is available here. Additionally, faculty can complete an asynchronous "Introduction to OER" course presented by Stephanie Hallam, education information librarian and assistant professor. Softball Begins 2020 Season in Alabama

Southeast Missouri's softball team begins its 2020 season with five games at the Troy University Tournament in Troy, Alabama, this weekend. The Redhawks face Kennesaw State University Feb. 14 and 16, Purdue University-Fort Wayne on Feb. 14, Southern Mississippi University on Feb. 15, and host Troy University on Feb. 15 at the event.
