Brazilian Student Association Presents 'Carnaval Night' TonightThe Brazilian Student Association will host the 2017 Brazilian "Carnaval Night" from 6-9:30 p.m. tonight, April 7, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 N. Ellis Street. The "Carnaval" will feature traditional Brazilian dishes, games and interactive performances. The highlight of the night will be a live performance by Samba Bom, a renowned Brazilian samba music and dance group, bringing the "Carnaval" energy to the heart of Cape Girardeau.

Faculty/Staff Portrait Day Set for April 10The next Portrait Day is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, April 10, in the Aleen Vogel Wehking Alumni Center Room 102 for faculty and staff members wishing to have a portrait-style photograph taken for departmental Web pages or other publications. Panel Discussion 'Student Perspectives on Retention: Diversity in the Classroom' April 12The College of Health and Human Services’ Diversity Issues Initiative will host a panel discussion on “Student Perspectives on Retention: Diversity in the Classroom” from noon-1:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in Glenn Auditorium of Dempster Hall. Panelists are students whose identities reflect diverse/underrepresented groups on campus. This moderated discussion will address what the University is doing well to serve a diverse student body, as well as ways to be more inclusive. Diversity in the classroom will also be discussed. Southeast students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.
