Greenhouse Celebrating National Pollinator Week with Sale

It’s National Pollinator Week! Support the pollinators by buying a plant at 50 percent off at the Charles Hutson Horticulture Greenhouse. Sale includes annuals, perennials, herbs and vegetables. Volunteers Needed for SEclipse Activities

Would you like to help make historic Great American Solar Eclipse on Aug. 21  a success? Leave us your information at http://eclipse.semo.edu/volunteer if you are interested in volunteering for the event. Tasks may include managing one of the many activity booths on Normal, ushering people at Houck Field, distributing glasses around campus, and answering any Southeast-related questions people might have. Faculty, staff, students and campus departments are welcome to volunteer. Volunteers will receive a SEclipse volunteer T-Shirt and lunch the day of the Eclipse. Volunteers are expected to attend a meeting (less than one hour) in early August to receive instructions for the day of the eclipse.

Retirement Reception June 21 for Karen Myer

Karen Myer, library technical assistant I in the Bibliographic Control at Kent Library, is retiring July 1 after nearly 24 years with Southeast. A retirement reception will be held Wednesday, June 21, from 1:30-3 p.m. behind Sadie’s Place on the main floor in Kent Library. The campus community is invited to attend.

Patterson to Compete in Dancing with Cape Stars

Southeast women's basketball coach Rekha Patterson was selected to compete in the first ever Dancing with Cape Stars  July 22 at Ray's Plaza Banquet Center in Cape Girardeau. It is open to the public, but tickets are required. Price of admission also includes dinner. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Gibson Center Foundation (GCF). GCF is a newly formed foundation to bring awareness to substance use in our area. GCF's primary goal is to support Gibson Recovery Center, a non-profit agency, committed to providing comprehensive services which promote new behaviors for a healthy lifestyle for those dealing with drug, alcohol and mental health issues. Votes in the form of donations are being accepted on DancingWithCape.com. Voting for each star will end the Thursday before the competition, July 20. The star with the most votes will receive an advantage in the competition, all while raising money for the Gibson Center Foundation.

Football Holds Camp Sunday

The Southeast Missouri football program will host a showcase camp from 3-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, at Houck Stadium. Cost is $30 per person. Camp is open to high school (grades 9-12) and junior college prospects.

Baseball Prospect Camp is Aug. 12

Southeast Missouri will hold a baseball prospect camp on Saturday, Aug. 12, for high school (9th-12th grade) athletes. Cost is $125 per camper. 2017 Preseason WNIT Bracket Announced

Tournament officials have released the official tournament bracket for the 2017 Preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament. All eight games of the first round will begin on Nov. 10. Round two is slated for Nov. 12-14 with the semifinals set for Nov. 16 and the championship scheduled for Nov. 19. Southeast will play Louisville in the first round on Nov. 10. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m., CT.
