When making a call in the 573 area code from campus, only use the local seven digit phone number (e.g., 651-####). If the area code is used, the campus phone system will automatically route it as a long distance call. If the call is outside the campus local exchange, it will fail and require dialing with the area code. However, attempting calls first without the area code could save money. For more information or questions, contact Telecommunications at (573) 651-2575.
