CSTL Presents 'Back to Basics: Teaching Without Technology' April 27

The "Take- Away Friday" series of faculty development workshops continues with "Back to the Basics: Teaching without Technology” at noon April 27 in Towers Complex Room 110. With all the emphasis on technology, digital literacy, devices, and all the other distractions of the modern college classroom, the foundation concepts of teaching sometimes get lost in the noise. This week, the Center for Scholarship in Teaching and Learning (CSTL) will examine ways to let teaching lead your classroom, not technology. Register here.

Faculty/Staff Portrait Day May 1

 The final Portrait Day to be held prior to fall semester will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, in the Aleen Vogel Wehking Alumni Center Room 102 for faculty and staff members wishing to have a portrait-style photograph taken for departmental Web pages or other publications.  No appointments are necessary.

Kent Athenaeum Series Features 'Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset' April 25

Join Kent Library's Athenaeum Series on Wednesday, April 25, at noon in Sadie's Place for "Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset," a presentation by Dr. Foster Roberts, assistant professor of management and marketing. Roberts will engage the audience with creative exercises designed to adjust thought processes to focus on innovative creation. Using real world examples, his presentation will touch on the diverse spectrum of circumstantial and individual factors leading to value creating opportunities.
