Building Asset Data Collections Planned July 30-Aug. 3

Facilities Management has contracted with AkitaBox to collect necessary data in all University buildings on the Cape Girardeau campus, the River Campus and David M. Barton Agriculture Research Center July 30-Aug. 3. There will be multiple individuals taking inventory and entering every room on campus to gather information and take photos of the spaces. They will also be collecting photos and information on mechanical, plumbing and electrical assets. They will sometimes be accompanied by a Facilities Management employee, but will also be navigating the campus on their own. For a list of AkitaBox employees and their photos, click here. Retirement Reception July 26 for McCollum, Prater

A retirement reception is planned for July 26 for Dennis McCollum and Dwight Prater, both staff members of the Department of Information Technology. McCollum has been employed at Southeast for 34 years. Prater has been employed at the University for 15 years. The reception is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. in the Academic Hall Dome Room. The campus community is invited to attend.

Southeast Students, Faculty Performing 'An American Hero' at NYMF

A Southeast Missouri State University original production, “An American Hero,” is in the national spotlight this week as part of the 15th season of the New York Musical Festival (NYMF). Thirty Southeast students and faculty are in New York City through July 29 performing “An American Hero” in the Acorn Theatre on 42nd Street, just off Times Square and the Broadway district. Performances immerse theatre lovers in a powerful, jazz-inspired musical that tells the story of an Irish immigrant during World War II and offers a human perspective never before told. Performances are scheduled for 9 p.m. July 26, 1 and 5 p.m. July 27, and 1 p.m. July 29 at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row, 410 W. 42nd Street. Terry Named OVC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year

Southeast Missouri senior running back Marquis Terry was named Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Offensive Player of the Year during the league’s annual media day on Monday, July 23 in Nashville, Tennessee.
