Oklahoma National Guard Conducting Training at Show Me Center, Cheney Hall Aug. 1-2

 The Oklahoma National Guard’s 63rd Civil Support Team (CST) will be conducting chemical and biological hazard training Aug. 1-2 at the Show Me Center and Cheney Hall. As part of the training, military vehicles, equipment and personnel will be on Southeast’s main campus conducting and participating in various exercises. On Aug. 2, parking lot 4-6, north of Cheney Hall and adjacent to Parker Building, will be unavailable. Faculty and staff are encouraged to park in parking lot 4-5, across Henderson Street from Parker Building. Any questions or requests for additional information are referred to Southeast’s Department of Public Safety at (573) 651-2215.

Westbound Normal Avenue Between Pacific, Henderson Closed

Normal Avenue is closed to westbound traffic between North Pacific Street and Henderson Avenue for street repairs through Aug. 3. The City of Cape Girardeau has posted detours, and traffic is encouraged to avoid the area. The closure is expected to last until Aug. 3 depending on weather and work.

The Thrive in 5: New Faculty Onboarding Sessions are scheduled for Aug. 1-2 in Kent Library. These sessions are designed to help new faculty hit the ground running at Southeast. 'An American Hero' Shines in the Spotlight at NYMF

Southeast Missouri State University's original production "An American Hero" shined in the national spotlight as part of the 15th season of the New York Musical Festival (NYMF). Thirty-five Southeast students and faculty traveled to New York City to perform five productions of “An American Hero” July 23-29 in the Acorn Theatre on 42nd Street, just off Times Square and the Broadway district. The performances received glowing reviews from Theatre Mania, Theatre Review from My Seat, and Buzzfeed, which declared "An American Hero" one of the "3-Must See Festival Shows." The Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance would like to thank the Southeast community and alumni for their dedicated support and donations.


Terry Lands Spot on STATS Preseason FCS All-American Team

Southeast Missouri senior tailback Marquis Terry was one of six Ohio Valley Conference players named to the 2018 STATS FCS Preseason All-America Teams Tuesday, July 31. Terry, a Lindy's Sports Preseason All-American and the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, claimed third-team honors.


Gymnastics Earns WCGA Scholastic All-America Award

The Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics team had a total of 12 individuals receive the Scholastic All-America Award presented by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association. Meeting the required minimum 3.5 grade point average, a record 760 (55 percent) student-athletes earned Scholastic All-America honors for the 2017-2018 school year.


Southeast Tennis Signs Three More for 2018-2019 Season

Southeast Missouri women's tennis added three players to its 2018-2019 roster today, Aug. 1. Romana Tarajová, Teona Velkoska and Manuela Fernanda Barriga Otalora joined the Redhawks.
