KRCU Radio Hosts '5KRCU' Run/Walk Oct. 27   

KRCU invites the Southeast community to participate in the inaugural "5KRCU" run/walk on Saturday, Oct. 27. Registration will open at 7 a.m., and the race will start at 8 a.m. Participants will have the option to run competitively or walk for leisure in an effort to raise funds for KRCU Public Radio. Professional timing will be provided by the Cape Road Runners. Those registered by Oct. 12 are guaranteed a T-shirt to be picked up at the race. Southeast Bookstore Announces Sale Sept. 18-19

Southeast Bookstore is holding a two-day sale today and Wednesday, Sept. 18-19. The sale includes 25 percent off select clothing, backpacks, drinkware, folders and tech accessories. Changes to Surplus Property Procedures Announced

Due to a legislative change, effective Aug. 28, the University Procurement Authority Delegation has been rescinded per Chapter 34.010, Revised Statues of Missouri. The University will no longer be able to dispose of surplus property through the Missouri State Agency for Surplus Property. This includes local disposal authorization, trade in authorization and selling surplus property on GovDeals, an online auction website. Currently, Facilities Management is pursuing other means to dispose of surplus property, and asks for patience during this process as they will not be scheduling any surplus pickups until new policies are in place. More information will be announced in the future.

Human Resources Announces New Student Employment Procedures

Effective immediately, all student employment, both domestic and international, new hires and job changes will be processed through Human Resources. Student employment supervisor training is in the process of being developed and the first training session will be held during the fall semester. More information will be provided at a later date. The Office of Career Services will continue to post student worker positions on REDHAWKjobs.com and assist students in their job search. Once a student has accepted a position on campus, Human Resources will be his or her new point of contact. Writing in the Disciplines Speakers Series Kicks Off with 'Writing and Marketing' Sept. 25

The Center for Writing Excellence presents the first event of the Writing in the Disciplines (WID) Speakers Series from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, in the University Center Indian Room. “Writing and Marketing,” presented by Charlie Wirtel, store manager of The Buckle Inc., will explore the role of written communication in marketing. Redhawks Take the Wheel

Southeast Missouri’s football team snapped a 10-game road losing streak in a thrilling 48-44 victory over longtime rival Southern Illinois in the first installment of the War for the Wheel on Sept. 15. Marquis Terry set new school and Ohio Valley Conference records in rushing (311) and all-purpose (438) yards while tight end Austin Crump caught the game-winning 14-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Santacaterina with 25 seconds left. The Redhawks claimed the “Wheel” trophy as a result of the victory.

Terry Racks Up Awards

Following his record performance against Southern Illinois, Marquis Terry was named Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Offensive Player, STATS FCS National Offensive Player, College Sports Madness OVC Player and College Sports Madness National Player of the Week. Terry is Southeast Missouri’s first player to rush for over 200 yards in back-to-back games in its NCAA Division I era.

Ochs Named OVC Newcomer of the Week

Southeast Missouri freshman setter Claire Ochs was tabbed the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week on Monday, Sept. 17. Ochs led the team with 105 assists as the Redhawks finished with a .210 attack percentage.
