LaFerla Recognized with Resolution of Honor (Page 21)

The Regents approved a resolution of honor recognizing outgoing Regent and former Board President Donald G. LaFerla of Joplin, Missouri, for his contributions to the Board. James P. Limbaugh of Cape Girardeau was appointed by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson to replace LaFerla, whose term on the Board has expired.

RubinBrown, LLP Appointed External Auditor for University, Foundation (Page 22) 

The Southeast Board of Regents  Feb. 14 appointed RubinBrown, LLP of St. Louis, Missouri, as the external auditor for both the University and the Southeast Missouri University Foundation effective with the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019. RubinBrown was among three firms submitting proposals and was selected based on an evaluation of costs and other metrics, according to Kathy Mangels, vice president for finance and administration.

Southeast Retirees Honored with Resolutions of Honor (Page 26)

The Southeast Board of Regents approved the issuing of resolutions of honor for several faculty and staff members who have retired or who are retiring from Southeast Missouri State University. 

Regents Set FY20 Room and Board Rates (Page 28)

The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents Feb. 14 set room and board rates effective with the fall 2019 semester. The Regents approved a motion to go into a closed session for appropriate considerations related to related to litigation; hiring, firing, discipling or promotion of personnel; and personnel records and performance ratings. 

Announcements Following Closed/Closed Executive Sessions

During closed session, the Board of Regents took the following action:

• By a vote of 5 to 0, the Board approved the minutes of the Board’s December 14, 2018 Closed Session meeting. Regents Gargas, Klocke, Knudtson, Limbaugh, and Neely-Martin all voted to approve.  Regent Britt was not present and was excused for the vote due to professional responsibilities.

• By a vote of 5 to 0, the Board approved to approve the granting of Emerti/Emerita status for six eligible faculty. Regents Gargas, Klocke, Knudtson, Limbaugh, and Neely-Martin all voted to approve.  Regent Britt was not present and was excused for the vote due to professional responsibilities.

During Closed Executive Session the Board of Regents took the following action:

• By a vote of 5 to 0 the Board approved the minutes of the Board’s December 14, 2018 Closed Executive Session meeting. Regents Britt, Gargas, Klocke, Limbaugh, and Neely-Martin all voted to approve.  Regent Knudtson had excused himself from the room and was not present at the time of the vote.

• The Board also had engaged in discussion on matters related to negotiated contracts under RSMo 610.021(12), and matters pertaining to personnel records and performance ratings under RSMo 610.021(13).
