Table Space Reservations Available for New Student Move-In Day

The Office of Residence Life invites the campus community to participate in the New Student Move-In Day on Thursday, Aug. 15. To reserve a table in the Student Recreation Center, University departments or student organizations may register by email at residencelife@semo.edu. Summer Camps at Southeast will host a variety of camps, conferences, workshops and programs that will enrich the personal development of individuals over the course of the summer. Summer at Southeast offers a wide variety of academic and special interest opportunities to area youth ranging in age from pre-school to college through one-day, multi-day, and overnight summer programs and camps. Self-Insurance for Health Benefits to be Explored at Open Forums April 30

Two open forums that will provide a general overview of what self-insurance for health benefits would mean for both the University and employees are planned for Tuesday, April 30. The first is scheduled for 10 a.m.-noon in Glenn Auditorium of Dempster Hall. The second is slated for 3-5 p.m. in Academic Auditorium. Representatives of Sonus Benefits, a benefits consultant contracted by the University last August, will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. This will be an opportunity to learn more and provide input as the University considers strategies to control long term health insurance costs. The campus community is invited to the forums.

Deadline May 14 for Dependent Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Fee Waiver Applications for Summer 2019

Applications for Summer 2019 dependent tuition reimbursements and employee fee waivers must be submitted no later than the first day of classes for the summer semester, May 14. To submit an online application, log on to the Southeast portal, click on the Employee SS tab, and then click on the appropriate application link under the Human Resources heading. Dependent Tuition Reimbursement applications for the 2019 academic year are valid through the end of the Summer 2019 semester. Fee waivers for employees should be submitted online no later than the first day of classes for each semester. Winter Intersession will be processed with the Spring semester after spring grades are posted. Athletics Hosts 12th Annual Cindy Gannon Walk for Women

The Southeast Missouri Department of Athletics hosted its 12th Annual Cindy Gannon Walk for Women at Houck Field House on Saturday, April 13. The longstanding event, named after Walk for Women founder and former SEMO Senior Associate Director of Athletics Cindy Gannon, raised more than $40,000 for athletic scholarships this year.

Kaziska Finishes Second in Two Events at USA Gymnastics National Championships

Southeast Missouri's Anna Kaziska finished second on both the beam and floor exercise at the 2019 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships individual event finals in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on Sunday, April 14. Kaziska matched her personal best score of 9.875 on beam and recorded an identical 9.875 score to tie for second on floor exercise.

Thogmartin Wins Third OVC Pitcher of the Week Honor

Southeast Missouri senior Haley Thogmartin won her second-straight and third overall Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Pitcher of the Week honor on Monday, April 15. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Thogmartin tossed two complete game shutouts to run her record to 14-3 this season. She had three strikeouts in seven innings against University of Tennessee at Martin on April 10. Thogmartin retired the Skyhawks in order in five innings. Two days later, she threw five shutout innings in a victory over Austin Peay University. Thogmartin has gone five-straight appearances without allowing an earned run.
