Information Meetings Scheduled for 2020 Employee Health Insurance Renewal Options

Human Resources will be conducting informational meetings during the week of Sept. 9 to share options regarding employee health insurance. These meetings are an opportunity for employees to learn about the options under consideration and offer feedback. A recommendation will be made to the Board of Regents at their Sept. 20 meeting. Employees are asked to register to attend a meeting through the Training and Development website. Questions should be directed to Alissa Vandeven, director of Human Resources, at (573) 651-2081. 

Chrome River Open Labs Scheduled Sept. 5 and 25

The Accounts Payable Department is offering two open labs on Chrome River for faculty and staff. The open labs will be held 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, in Kent Library, Room 110, and 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, in Dempster Hall Room 003. Faculty and staff are free to use these labs to ask questions, obtain assistance with Chrome River reports, or meet the University's Chrome River team.

'Take-Away Friday' Returns Sept. 6 with 'Marauding Vikings'

The "Take-Away Friday" series of faculty development workshops begins this Friday, Sept. 6 at noon in the Jean Ann Whitaker Model Classroom in the EDvolution Center in Scully Building Room 209. Dr. Vicky McAlister, assistant professor of history, presents "Incorporating Role Play in Your Teaching: Marauding Vikings Attack and Students Learn." McAlister will discuss incorporating role play into a course, including how roles are constructed and defined, how those roles contribute to overall learning in the course, and how role play activities are assessed. 

Faculty/Staff Portrait Day Sept. 10

The next Portrait Day is scheduled for 11:30 a.m-1:30 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Magill Hall second floor lounge, for faculty and staff members wishing to have a portrait-style photograph taken for departmental Web pages or other publications. No appointments are necessary. Additional Portrait Days this semester will be Oct. 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the third floor of Kent Library, and Nov. 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Magill Hall second floor lounge.

Retirement Reception Sept. 6 for Judy Klaproth-Gentry

Judy Klaproth-Gentry, a sergeant with the University Police, is retiring after nearly 18 years with Southeast. A retirement reception is scheduled for 2:30-4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in the Show Me Center's south meeting room. The campus community is invited to attend.
