Lane Reduction on Westbound Broadway at West End Boulevard Begins Sept. 9

Beginning Monday, Sept. 9 at 8 a.m. AT&T will be reducing the westbound lane of travel on Broadway at West End Boulevard to one lane. The lane reduction will be daily between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and will be closed one to three weeks depending on work and weather. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution in work zones, and to consider an alternate route during this lane reduction.

Information Meetings Scheduled for 2020 Employee Health Insurance Renewal Options

Human Resources will be conducting informational meetings during the week of Sept. 9 to share options regarding employee health insurance. These meetings are an opportunity for employees to learn about the options under consideration and offer feedback. A recommendation will be made to the Board of Regents at their Sept. 20 meeting. Writing Lab Announces Fall Hours

The Writing Lab, located in the Center for Writing Excellence in Memorial Hall Room 103, is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays. Appointments are not necessary. The Writing Lab offers free, individualized assistance for all students, first-year to graduate, and faculty who seek help with their writing. The Writing Lab assists individuals at any stage in the writing process. Students may also submit a draft for review using the Online Writing Lab via Moodle. For instructions on how to submit a draft, click here. Students may expect a reply within three business days. The Writing Lab staff is also available for class visits to discuss the lab's resources. Southeast Missouri State University hosts the Redhawks Invitational this weekend. The Redhawks face Jackson State University at 12:30 p.m., and Western Illinois University at 7 p.m. today, Sept. 6. They go on to play the University of Evansville at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. All matches will be played at Houck Field House.

Redhawks Name Courtney Smith as Director of Operations

Southeast Missouri's Women's Basketball Head Coach Rekha Patterson hired Courtney Smith as Director of Operations Wednesday, Sept. 4. Smith is a former Division I student-athlete who participated in track and field at Northern Illinois University. She was a head track and field and cross country coach in Schaumburg, Illinois, prior to Southeast. Smith has also worked as a physical education teacher and an administrative assistant in Cape Girardeau.
