State of the University Address to be Delivered Oct. 15 at Convocation

Dr. Carlos Vargas, president of Southeast Missouri State University, will deliver the State of the University Address at the annual Faculty and Staff Convocation at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in Academic Hall Auditorium. A reception will be held immediately following, compliments of Chartwells. A video recording of the address and State of the University materials will be available online after the event at https://semo.edu/president/initiatives/state-of-the-university.html. An update will be provided when these items may be accessed.

Parking Services Consultant to Conduct Focus Groups, Survey to Gather Campus Input

Parking Services at Southeast has initiated a study to review all aspects of the University parking system.  The consulting firm KA Associates is leading the review, which includes evaluation of permit types, parking lot designations, parking lot design and traffic flow, parking signage and customer service. MOSERS Pre-Retirement Seminars Planned Oct. 30-31

MOSERS Pre-Retirement Seminars will be held in the University Center's Program Lounge from 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, and from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. Both sessions are identical, and the seminar is for all employees considering retirement in the near future. Spouses are welcome and encouraged to attend. To register for either session, employees should register through the MOSERS website by Friday, Oct. 18. Second Cohort of Online Teaching Academy Underway

The second cohort of the Online Teaching Academy (OTA) kicked off on Sept. 6 with the first of five masterclasses. During the masterclass that continues for seven months, OTA members, including 23 faculty from 18 academic departments, are hearing from nationally recognized experts in online education about the different aspects of online teaching and learning.
