Southeast AAUP Sponsoring Faculty Group in Homecoming Parade

The Southeast American Association of University Professors (AAUP) Chapter is sponsoring a faculty walking group during the Southeast Homecoming Parade. All Southeast full-time, part-time and adjunct faculty are invited to join, and must be present by 9 a.m. at the inner road of Capaha Park, located at the corner of Normal Street and West End Boulevard. Participants are requested to wear academic regalia, or professional or Southeast attire. The walking group will display a banner labeled "Faculty at Southeast." Faculty are integral to the University but are often not visible at high profile events. Safe Trick-or-Treat Returns to Southeast Oct. 28

Faculty, staff, students and their children, Little Sisters or Brothers, or mentees are invited to a Safe Trick-or-Treat which returns to Southeast Monday, Oct. 28. The event, hosted by Southeast Serves, Vandiver Hall and Gamma Sigma Sigma, will be held from 6-9 p.m. at Vandiver Hall, located at 350 N. Henderson. Children ages 10 and under may receive candy from participating residents and engage in fun Halloween crafts in a safe and welcoming environment. Athenaeum Series Presents 'Mysteries, Myths and Legends of Southeast'

Kent Library's Athenaeum Lecture Series will present "Mysteries, Myths, and Legends of Southeast" at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 30, in Kent Library, main floor. The presentation will be given by Christy Mershon, assistant director of Extended and Continuing Education, who will discuss how over time mysteries, myths and legends float around every community, and every college campus. The Redhawk soccer team closes out its regular season at home with two big games this weekend.
