Southeast accounting faculty with the Harrison College of Business and Computing recently hosted the 9th Annual Partners in Progress Advisory Board meeting Friday, April 26, in Robert A.Dempster Hall.
Southeast President Dr. Carlos Vargas welcomed the group and Dr. Alberto Dávila, dean of the Harrison College of Business and Computing, provided the Advisory Board with updates regarding the University and the Harrison College of Business and Computing. Dr. Richard Palmer, professor of accounting, presented updates about Southeast’s accounting program. Additionally, student officers of Southeast’s Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society provided updates on the organization’s recent activities.
During a networking luncheon, the partners had to opportunity to meet with approximately 65 accounting students. John Mather, of BKD, CPAs and Advisors, was the luncheon’s keynote speaker, addressing students and faculty. Following the luncheon, the Advisory Board hosted a Q&A panel and responded to student questions in Glenn Auditorium.
