Alpha Phi Omega Offers Service Opportunities to Southeast Students

Jan. 29, 2010 – Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Co-Ed Service Fraternity will host its Community Service Fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 1 in the University Center lobby.

Organizations involved in the fair include Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, Safehouse for Women, Boy Scouts of America.

The Service Fair will give students the opportunity to meet with local organizations and sign up to volunteer with people in the community.

The Southeast APO’s Beta Psi chapter has served the community since 1939.  Members of the organization hope the event will encourage students to explore service opportunities in Cape Girardeau.

APO is based on the principles of leadership, friendship and service. They assist many organizations in service projects which range from fund raising for St. Jude to sponsoring a local Cub Scout troop.
