Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus Art Gallery is displaying work from students in the Department of Art and Design in the 2020 Graduating Seniors Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Exhibition Nov. 6-20.
An opening reception will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 6, as part of Cape Girardeau’s First Friday with the Arts activities.
The Fall 2020 BFA Graduating Seniors Exhibition will include the work of eight Southeast students, five will be on display in the River Campus Art Gallery, and three in the Dobbins Center Hallway Gallery. The two-week exhibition replaces the four-part shows originally scheduled Nov. 9-Dec. 11.
“The end of each semester is always an exciting time for the Department of Art and Design as we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating BFA students,” said Justin Miller, professor of art and exhibitions coordinator. “This exhibition represents the culmination of our students’ hard work and creativity invested during their time at Southeast. The uniqueness of content and diversity of mediums is always fun to see.”
Works presented will include digital art, graphic design, painting and sculpture, representing the broad expanse of Southeast’s art and design programs and the creativity of its students.
The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106. The Dobbins Center Hallway Gallery is located on the first floor of the Kenneth and Jeanine Dobbins Center at Southeast’s River Campus.
All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public. Face coverings will be required, and social distancing guidelines will be in place.
River Campus Art Gallery hours are 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-7 p.m. on First Fridays.
