CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Aug. 5, 2013 – Auditions for Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance fall productions will be held Aug. 19 and Aug. 27-30.
Auditions for principal roles for “Legally Blonde” will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theatre at Southeast’s River Campus with callbacks and rehearsals to follow immediately. Ensemble auditions for “Legally Blonde” as well as auditions for “Orpheus Descending,” “Sordid Lives” and the Fault-Line Film Festival will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall at the River Campus.
Those auditioning for any of the four productions must prepare 32-bars and a 60-second monologue or two contrasting monologues. All actors will be considered for the musical and all non-musicals regardless of prepared material.
Callbacks for theatre auditions are at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the River Campus.
Dance auditions will be held in the Parker Hall Dance Studio on Southeast’s main campus. Faculty choreography auditions will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, and student choreography auditions will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.
All current and prospective Bachelor of Fine Arts performance majors and all freshmen and transfer student prospective Bachelor of Fine Arts majors are required to audition for mainstage productions. All performance-based Bachelor of Arts majors are highly encouraged to audition. Everyone auditioning should dress appropriately and bring a resume, headshot and music (if singing).
