CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Jan. 15, 2016 – Southeast Missouri State University’s Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts will hold auditions Feb. 13 for the 2016 River Campus Summer Arts Festival productions of “Always … Patsy Cline” and “Steel Magnolias.”
Auditions are scheduled for 10 a.m. in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theatre.
Auditions are open to the general public, and all positions include a small salary. For actors auditioning for both shows, please prepare both a 60-second monologue and 32 bars of a country/western song. Actors auditioning for “Steel Magnolias” only will present the monologue, and those auditioning for “Always … Patsy Cline” only will present the 32 bars and a monologue. Callbacks will immediately follow the prepared auditions. Rehearsals will begin approximately May 31. Performances run from June 16-28.
