Bai Announces Retirement; McAllister Named Interim Director of Institutional Research


BaiDr. Kang Bai has announced his retirement as Assistant Provost for Institutional Research and Academic Assessment at Southeast Missouri State University effective Aug. 1.

Dr. Karl Kunkel, Southeast provost, announced that Dr. Charles McAllister will become Interim Director of Institutional Research until a permanent director is hired. In addition, Dr. Daryl Fridley, associate dean of the College of Education, will assume complete responsibility for academic assessment initiatives.  As McAllister adds the direction of Institutional Research to his duties as Vice Provost, the University will be looking to appoint an Interim Dean of Graduate Studies who will be announced at a later date, according to Kunkel.

“I want to thank Dr. Bai for his service to Southeast Missouri State University directing our Institutional Research needs,” Kunkel said. “Under his leadership, Institutional Research was customer-oriented, efficient and prompt when reporting necessary data for various important reporting and planning efforts.  Dr. Bai also is a tremendous, team-oriented colleague with a very cooperative and friendly demeanor. We wish him well as he moves to the next chapter in his career and life.”
