“She iS,” an exhibition curated by Southeast Missouri State University student Maria Esswein featuring the work of 25 artists who identify as female, is on display virtually and being hosted by Southeast’s Catapult Creative House.
The exhibition is now available to the public at https://sheiscatapult.online/. This exhibition, originally scheduled to be in the main gallery at Catapult from May 1-28, was moved online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“She iS” is an international curated exhibition showcasing artwork reflecting on each artist’s experiences as women. The show highlights womanhood in various aspects, whether through age, ethnicity, gender, race, nationality, and so on. This approach allows the viewer to connect with some aspect in the exhibit without excluding one group of women. The artists represented are from the United States and Brazil. They shared their stories in various mediums, creating a diverse array of work.
Catapult Creative House, located at 612 Broadway in downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is currently closed due to COVID-19. For more information contact Leah Powers at firstname.lastname@example.org or (573) 290-5372.
