CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 21, 2003 ᾰ Chartwells at Southeast Missouri State University was named 2002-2003 National Account of the Year Nov. 10 at the 2003 “Be-A-Star” National Awards Celebration held at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
Chartwells is the contracted food service provider for Southeast Missouri State University. Chartwells, which encourages customers to “Experience the Taste of Southeast,” provides residential dining, retail operations and catering services. In any given week, Chartwells at Southeast serves 20,000 meals.
Compass Group sponsors the “Be-A-Star” program for each of its companies ᾰ Canteen, Chartwells, Flik International Corp., Eurest, Canteen Corrections, Morrison, Bon Appetit and Thompson. The promotion involves five “stars” that recognize associates and teams for achieving sector-specific business initiatives with excellence. Each star consists of a series of activities and skill-based action items. The 2002-2003 “Be-A-Star” program began in August 2002 and ended in May. The five star challenges consisted of the following 16 components: A Great Start, SendMunchies.com, Absolutely Satisfaction Guaranteed and FISH Philosophy, Communication is the Key to our Success, Time for Reflection, Capture the Sale, Capture the Future, New Spin on an Old Favorite, My Compass, Your Compass, Capture the Opportunity, Optional Diversity Component, Chartwells in the Community, Clients Count, Capture the Profit ᾰ Ritazza, Great Results and Celebrating Success.
In July, Chartwells at Southeast Missouri State University also was awarded “Regional Account of the Year” for the third consecutive year. It also was recognized as a member of the “100 Club” for 100 percent client satisfaction and was presented with the “Five Star” Award.
