CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., July 17, 2012 — Due to a change in the construction schedule, the Student Recreation Center–North (SRC-N) will now be open Monday, July 30, through Sunday, Aug. 5.
The SRC-North will be open on its normal operating schedule during this period from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and noon to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The facility previously had planned to be closed during this time.
The East Gymnasium, however, during the same period of July 30-Aug. 5, will be closed so divider curtains can be replaced. Patrons will have access to locker rooms and the upper cardio area.
The Student Recreation Center–South (SRC-S) will revert back to its normal summer operating hours of 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. It previously had been announced that the SRC-S would have expanded hours during this period.
As originally planned, the Student Aquatic Center (SAQ) will be closed from Monday, July 30, through Sunday, Aug. 12, and will reopen on Monday, Aug. 13. This is due to work on new chlorination systems, changes in drainage grates and ventilation needs.
In all, about $350,000 in improvements are taking place in the SRC-North complex in the coming month. For construction updates or recreation hours, visit www.semo.edu/recservices.
