The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus is hosting a “Chain Mail” workshop Sept. 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
This event is free for ages 14 and older, and is open to the public. Supplies will be provided. Registration is due by Sept. 21.
During the workshop, participants will learn the basics of making their own chain mail, a type of armor consisting of metal rings linked to form a mesh. Participants will learn how to cut loops from wire and assemble the loops to create the four-in-one pattern technique. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a small 4-6 inch chain mail sample they can build on and create more pieces from at home.
