CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., May 19, 2015 — The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus is hosting MACHINEWORX, a four-day, summer academy for youth June 2-5.
Participants will experience a number of interesting and fun hands-on mechanical activities. Lessons include wheels and axles, gears, levers, inclined planes, pulleys and wedges under the topics of paper sculpture, mixed media assemblage, toys, tools and complex machines.
A morning session for ages 4-8 is 9-11 a.m. Adult supervision is required for preschoolers. An afternoon session for youth ages 9-15 is scheduled for 1-4 p.m.
