CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., July 16, 2009 — The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus is looking for volunteers this fall.
Are you interested in volunteer work? Do you have an interest in art or history? If you are interested in volunteering and also enjoy learning about art and history, museum officials are interested in meeting with you to discuss volunteer opportunities currently available at the Crisp Museum.
“Volunteers can assist in planning, organizing, promoting and conducting monthly Family Day programs or they can conduct tours as part of our docent program. Docents are volunteers who receive additional training in order to conduct tours for audiences of all age levels,” said Ellen Hahs, curator of education with the Museum.
Docent training is being offered as a three-day session from 1-5 p.m. Sept. 14, 16 and 18.
Monthly volunteer meetings will be held to plan, discuss, refresh and learn new information concerning the museum’s exhibitions, displays, collections and events.
To register, contact Ellen Hahs, curator of education, by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (573) 651-2301.
