CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Dec. 1, 2009 — The River Campus Art Gallery at Southeast Missouri State University is now presenting the December 2009 Graduating Seniors BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) Exhibition, a collection of work created by the talented emerging artists from the Department of Art.
The exhibit opened Nov. 30. The Gallery is holding a reception on Friday, Dec. 4, from 5-7 p.m., during which the public is invited to view this exhibition. The work will remain on display until Dec. 18.
The December 2009 Graduating Seniors BFA Exhibition includes ceramics from Stu Ha’o, paintings from Krystal Floyd and digital media pieces from Amanda Garner, Katie Bowman, Heather Nelson, Madeline Vialton, Loren Boyd and Nicki Stearns. The wonderful, eclectic projects in this collection are clear evidence of dedicated studio practice and rigorous creative and academic investigation. The emerging artists included in the exhibit display a college career’s worth of accrued knowledge, artistic exploration, rigorous critique and a strong focus on professional goals. The BFA exhibition is a culmination of years of fine arts study at Southeast Missouri State University and shows that fostering and challenging the creative process can produce successful, accomplished bodies of work.
The Department of Art invites the public to experience this showing of work. The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building, Room 106.
