“Don’t Dump, Donate,” a joint initiative between the Office of Residence Life and the Community Caring Council of Cape Girardeau, will be held May 7-11 in collection areas in all residence halls, including on the first floor of the Towers Complex.
As students begin to clean out their rooms before going home for summer break, faculty and staff are also encouraged to donate items no longer needed, wanted or for which they simply do not have room. Any item is welcome for donation, including non-perishable foods, clothing, furniture, electronics, books and shoes.
All items donated will be sold by the Community Caring Council at its annual garage sale May 18-19 at 232 Broadway in Cape Girardeau. The proceeds of this garage sale go to support those in need of assistance with housing, transportation, medical, dental and counseling.
