CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Dec. 2, 2009 – The deadline is nearing for scholarship guarantees and early admission consideration for fall 2010 at Southeast Missouri State University.
The deadline is Dec. 15. Interested students are encouraged to submit an application by this date for full admission and scholarship consideration, said Dr. Debbie Below, assistant vice president for enrollment management and director of admissions.
The application for admission may be completed online at http://www.semo.edu/admissions/apply.htm. This application also serves as the University’s application for merit and student involvement scholarships, Below said.
Students also may contact the Office of Admissions for more information by calling (573) 651-2590 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Students also may contact the Office of Admissions in-person in Academic Hall Room 259 on the Southeast campus.
Dec. 15 is the final application deadline for two of the University’s top merit scholarships — the Governor’s and Regents’ Scholarships. Other merit scholarship will be awarded through March 1, 2010, providing funds are available. Southeast enrolled a record number of merit scholars in fall 2009, up 45 percent from fall 2004, Below said.
Applications will continue to be accepted after Dec. 15 on a rolling basis.
“The early deadline is relevant for students seeking a merit scholarship and/or priority in the housing assignment process,” Below said. Applicants who apply after Dec. 15 and qualify for a Southeast merit scholarship are considered only if unused funds are remaining.
