CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
March 23, 2009 – Area employers are invited to participate in the third annual Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology Career and Internship Fair April 8 in the Otto and Della Seabaugh Polytechnic Building at Southeast Missouri State University.
Employers will have access to more than 250 junior and senior students seeking internships or full-time employment opportunities. They also will have the opportunity to speak to and interview students who are pursuing or completing their degree in a variety of academic specializations.
“The Career and Internship Fair will hopefully help employers meet their long and short-term hiring needs,” said Dr. Ragu Athinarayanan, chair of the Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology. “Our graduates have been very successful in filling both engineering related and technical management/supervision positions in industry,” Athinarayanan said.
Southeast’s Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology holds national accreditation from by the Association of Technology Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) and the Accreditation Board of Engineering & Technology (Technology Accreditation Commission) for its bachelor of science degree in Industrial Technology and Engineering Technology programs respectively.
Employers interested in participating in the Career and Internship Fair are asked to register online at http://www.semo.edu/careerlinkages/employers/event_registration.htm. Those registering will receive a confirmation letter, including a map with directions to the Polytechnic Building. The registration deadline is Friday, March 20. Parking for employers will be provided directly in front of the Seabaugh Polytechnic Building. Employers will be given a booth where they can set up their company’s display, and they will have access to space to conduct on-site interviews with potential candidates. Breakfast and lunch will be provided with the cost of registration.
