Faculty and Staff Salary Equity Study Updates


As President Carlos Vargas mentioned in his July 30 Dear Colleague letter to the University community, a request for proposal (RFP) was issued on July 15 for salary equity study consulting services. In early-September, the University hired Evergreen Solutions to provide consulting services throughout the study. Evergreen Solutions has significant experience in conducting compensation and classification studies for higher education institutions and consequently provides comprehensive knowledge of faculty and staff compensation models.

Additionally, a call for nominations was issued by President Vargas in mid-August to faculty and staff representative groups, divisions and colleges, for proposed members of a task force. The task force will provide input on the University’s current compensation structure and its challenges, such as recruitment and retention of faculty and staff. The task force membership has been appointed, and a list of the membership can be accessed under the “University Updates” section in the employee Portal along with a timeline for the study.

As a reminder, all faculty and staff will have an opportunity to participate in open forums related to this study late in the fall semester.
