CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
May 29, 2007 – If you are still looking for something for your children ages 5-13 to do this summer, this is the final week to register for Redhawks Kids Camp at Southeast Missouri State University.
Recreation Services at Southeast invites youth to participate in nine weeks of Redhawks Kids Camp planned for
June 4 – Aug. 3. Participants will be active, play games, swim and make arts and crafts.
Hosted at the Student Recreation Center – South on Broadway, Redhawks Kids Camp offers children an opportunity to stay active throughout the summer. The camp is a recreational-based day camp. Hours are 8 a.m.– 4 p.m. Monday – Friday. Early drop-off and late pick-up times can be arranged.
For as little as $2.63 an hour, children will be part of a safe, active and educational environment. Counselors for the camp are Southeast students, many of whom are education majors on campus. All counselors have been through specific training, passed national background checks and are CPR/AED/First aid certified.
Redhawks Kids Camp activities include swimming each afternoon at Capaha Pool (weather permitting), games and activities in and around the air-conditioned Student Recreation Center – South, arts and crafts, philanthropic activities to better the community, specific themed-week programming, guest presenters and more.
The cost is $105 a week for Southeast-affiliated or Student Recreation Center members or $125 per week for community members ($3.13 an hour for community members). Campers will each receive a camp backpack and water bottle as part of their registration, and there is never an administrative fee charged for the Redhawks Kids Camp.
