Aug. 31, 2009 – The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum and the ARound Town Art Group are proud to sponsor the free First Friday Art Shuttle on Sept. 4 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The Art Shuttle is a free service provided to transport patrons to and from all participating Around Town member galleries. Shuttle service will pick up and transport visitors every half hour starting from the River Campus to the following locations: Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, The Artist Studio, Garden Gallery, Global Café, and Westray: Hosting the Cat Ranch Art Guild, Edward Bernard Gallery. A schedule of pick up times will be available at the participating locations during First Friday festivities.
The free shuttle has been provided by ARound Town members: Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, The Artist Studio, Garden Gallery, Global Café, Westray: Hosting the Cat Ranch Art Guild, Edward Bernard Gallery, River Campus Art Gallery and the Crisp Museum.
“Around Town” is a collective network of artists, studios and galleries promoting interest in the arts and public awareness of the presentation of fine artistic venues. “First Friday” is a partnering of studios and galleries in Cape Girardeau in an effort to provide the city with a monthly arts venue. Many local art galleries have shows open on the first Friday of each month with local, regional and national artists displaying their artistic and diverse mediums. Several galleries provide light refreshments, and all visitors are encouraged to visit the studios and galleries during the monthly event.
