“Around Town” is a collective network of artists, studios and galleries promoting interest in the arts and public awareness of the presentation of fine artistic venues. “First Friday” is a partnering of studios and galleries in Cape Girardeau in an effort to provide the city with a monthly arts venue. Many local art galleries have shows open on the first Friday of each month with local, regional and national artists displaying their artistic and diverse mediums. Several galleries provide light refreshments, and all visitors are encouraged to visit the studios and galleries during the monthly event.
