CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.,
Sept. 29, 2009 – The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum and members of ARound Town welcome their newest member, Aartful Rose Gallery, and thank the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau for sponsoring the free First Friday Arts Shuttle on Oct. 2.
The shuttle will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The Art Shuttle is a free service provided to transport patrons to and from participating Around Town member galleries. Shuttle service will pick up and transport visitors every half hour starting from the River Campus to the following locations: Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, The Artist Studio, Garden Gallery, Global Café, Westray: Hosting the Cat Ranch Art Guild, Edward Bernard Gallery and Aartful Rose Gallery. A schedule of pickup times will be available at the participating locations during First Friday openings.
“Around Town” is a collective network of artists, studios and galleries promoting interest in the arts and public awareness of the presentation of fine artistic venues. “First Friday” is a partnering of studios and galleries in Cape Girardeau in an effort to provide the city with a monthly arts venue. Many local art galleries have shows open on the first Friday of each month with local, regional and national artists displaying their artistic and diverse mediums. Several galleries provide light refreshments, and all visitors are encouraged to visit the studios and galleries during the monthly event.
