Marc Fulgham, associate professor of music at Southeast Missouri State University, will be the featured soloist in the upcoming Paducah Symphony Orchestra concert scheduled for March 6.
Fulgham will perform “Concerto in Eb” for trumpet and orchestra composed by Joseph Haydn. The concert will celebrate the orchestra’s 25th season and their premier performance in the recently completed Luther F. CarsonᾰFour Rivers Center for the Performing Arts.
This appearance with the orchestra is the third time the Paducah Symphony Orchestra has called upon Fulgham to be their featured soloist. In 1992, he was selected as the first of many soloists for the “Principal Chair” series, which features the first chair performer in each of the different sections of the Paducah Symphony.
Fulgham is in his 14th year as a member of the music faculty at Southeast and his 13th year as principal trumpet in the Paducah Symphony Orchestra. He has performed solos with numerous schools, church, and municipal music organizations, and he has been invited to perform with the Festival of Trumpets at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in Denver, Colo., in June.
