Graduating BFA Students’ Artwork Presented in Four Exhibitions


studentartVarious works of art by talented artists in the Department of Art will be displayed in the 2016 Graduating Seniors Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Exhibitions at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus Art Gallery Nov. 14- Dec. 16.

The first exhibition runs Nov. 14-18 with a reception from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 18. The next exhibition will be on display Nov. 28-Dec. 2 with a reception from 5-7 p.m. on Dec. 2. The third exhibition will show Dec. 5-9 from 5-7 p.m. with the closing reception scheduled form 5-7 p.m. on Dec. 9. The fourth and final exhibition will be open from Dec. 12-16 with the closing reception from 5-7 p.m. on Dec. 16.

Works presented are in ceramics, digital art, graphic design, illustration, painting, printmaking and sculpture, representing the broad expanse of Southeast’s art programs and the creativity of its students. Typically, about three students’ artwork are shown each week.

“These are essentially three solo shows in one gallery, which always produces an interesting and diverse collection of artwork,” said Justin Henry Miller, assistant professor and exhibitions coordinator. “The exhibiting student artists are always present at the receptions too, which provides viewers with the opportunity to speak with them about the concepts behind their exhibition.”

All exhibitions and receptions will be in the River Campus Art Gallery, which is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106.
