Graduating BFA Students’ Artwork Presented in Four Exhibitions

Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus Art Gallery will display work from students in the Department of Art and Design in the 2018 Graduating Seniors Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Exhibitions Nov. 12- Dec. 14.

The first exhibition runs Nov. 12-16 with a reception from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 16. The next exhibition will be on display Nov. 26-30 with a reception from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 30. The third exhibition will be on display Dec. 3-7 with a reception scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Dec. 7. The fourth and final exhibition will be open from Dec. 10-14 with a reception from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 14.

“The BFA shows represent the culmination of our art students’ time at Southeast,” said Justin Miller, associate professor of art and exhibitions coordinator. “The students are responsible for installing their artwork, coordinating advertising and putting on the reception.”

Works presented are in ceramics, digital art, graphic design, illustration, painting, printmaking and sculpture, representing the broad expanse of Southeast’s art programs and the creativity of its students. Typically, about three students’ artwork are shown each week.

“The variety of artwork is always interesting to see,” Miller said. “Essentially viewers are presented with three separate shows in one space.”

All exhibitions and receptions will be in the River Campus Art Gallery, which is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106.

River Campus Art Gallery hours are 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-7 p.m. on First Fridays. All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Justin Miller at or (573) 651-2865.
